 If you have never brushed your teeth with a sonic toothbrush, it's my opinion that you've never truthfully gotten your teeth clean. It's a different experience, really. I have been using electric toothbrushes since I discovered them years ago and have sworn never to go back to a manual one. They just don't seem to work nearly as well! The clean you can get with an electronic toothbrush is just so much better than one you can get with a manual tooth brush. This sonic toothbrush is absolutely the best I've ever used! I've been using a sonicare toothbrush for quite a while but just recently had to throw it away because of a particularly virulent strain of the flu that infected our house. So, when I had the opportunity to purchase this Brio SmartClean sonic toothbrush, I couldn't have been happier. 

The first thing you'll notice about this toothbrush is the fact that it's rechargeable Every other electronic toothbrush I've had, had to have it's batteries replaced and that got very expensive over the life of the toothbrush! With this one, you'll never have to worry about that! To charge this toothbrush, it's as simple as plugging the base in and setting the toothbrush on top of it. If it's been plugged in and placed properly, a solid blue light will come on. When the toothbrush is done charging, the blue light will start to blink. When you first receive this toothbrush, it's recommended to put it on the charger and let it charge for 24 hours before use. That 24 hours charge will last you up to six weeks with regular use! Regular use is defined as brushing your teeth two times a day for two minutes at a time. That's very easy to do with this toothbrush! 

I couldn't wait 24 hours so I put it on to charge for just a little while before using it myself. This toothbrush is actually unique because it works on a cycle. When you hit the power button, the toothbrush starts its two minute cycle. The instructions suggest that you work in one quadrant of your mouth for 30 seconds before moving to the next one. This toothbrush takes the guess work out of that, every 30 seconds it shuts off for a second then turns back on to tell you to change quadrants! I would just suggest having the toothbrush in your mouth before you turn it on. If not, the sonic vibrations might just shower toothpaste all over your bathroom. Trust me, this is learned from personal experience! 

There are, however, some warnings that come with the use of this toothbrush. Because it's so powerful, you need to be careful when using this toothbrush. If you've recently had dental work or oral surgery, ask your dentist before using this toothbrush. This toothbrush is water resistant but not waterproof. So, don't dip it completely in water, you can and will destroy it by doing that. If you've never used a sonic toothbrush, be careful of what setting you use it on the first time. This toothbrush has three different settings, normal, soft and massage. If you've never used a sonic toothbrush before, start with soft and work your way up to normal. My suggestion is to make sure to read all the instructions before using this toothbrush. I know it seems weird, having to read instructions for a toothbrush but they really are important! 

I just have a couple other observations to share with you. First, this toothbrush is bigger than a normal toothbrush. It's not that it's bigger around but it's taller. Keep that in mind when you plan a place to store it. Also, it comes with an extra brush head! If you replace them every three months like suggested, that gives you six months before you have to order again! The charger that comes with the toothbrush does have two places to place extra heads so that everything is together and very easy to access! I really, really do love this toothbrush and would highly recommend it! Trust me, your teeth will thank you!
